Le sentier d’art IVY
En 1879, Vincent Van Gogh a marché du Borinage aux Ardennes flamandes. Du 13 mai au 6 août, vous pourrez suivre ses traces le long du sentier d’art IVY.
L'itinéraire comprend des arrêts sur le voyage à pied de Van Gogh, une exposition sur son mentor, le pasteur-artiste Pieterszen, et l'art contemporain choisi par le commissaire d'exposition Johan Tahon, qui s'est immergé dans le voyage de Van Gogh.

Le sentier d’art IVY est accessible du 13 mai au 6 août 2023, du jeudi au dimanche, de 13h à 18h. L'entrée est gratuite.

Vous partez du Musée protestant De Geuzenhoek (Horebeke) pour un parcours de 4 km ou de la gare de Sint-Denijs-Boekel (Zwalm) pour un parcours de 8 km. Vous trouverez un point d’information dans le musée protestant De Geuzenhoek, ainsi qu’une colonne d'information aux deux points de départ.

L'ensemble du parcours est difficile d'accès pour les personnes en fauteuil roulant et les poussettes.

Pourquoi IVY?
Le sentier d’art IVY doit son nom au mot anglais désignant le lierre qui pousse le long de la tombe de Pieterszen, le mentor de Van Gogh, dans le cimetière protestant de Horebeke, comme symbole d'immortalité.
Art trail IVY
In 1879 Vincent Van Gogh walked from the Borinage to the Flemish Ardennes. From May 13 to August 6 2023, you can follow in his footsteps along the IVY art trail.
The route includes stops about Van Gogh's journey on foot, an exhibition about his mentor, the pastor-artist Pieterszen, and contemporary art chosen by curator Johan Tahon, who immersed himself in Van Gogh's journey.

Practical information

The IVY art trail runs from May 13 to August 6, 2023. It is free to enter from Thursday to Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

You depart from the Protestant Museum De Geuzenhoek (Horebeke) for a 4 km course or from the train station of Sint-Denijs-Boekel (Zwalm) for an 8 km course. In the Protestant Museum De Geuzenhoek there is an information point about the IVY art trail, and there is an information column at both starting points.

The entire course is difficult to access for wheelchair users and buggies.

Why IVY?
The IVY art trail owes its name to the ivy that grows along the grave of Van Gogh's mentor Pieterszen in the Protestant cemetery in Horebeke, as a symbol of immortality.
